Of Publications Issued by the Congregation

1. The Master shall appoint a Censor, to examine and report upon all proposed publications of the Congregation. To the Censor, all the essays read in the meetings of the Conferences, shall be sent by the Wardens, and all other literary productions laid before the Chapter for publication shall, upon a majority vote of the Chapter, be referred to the Censor for examination.

2. At each Chapter or Conference, the Censor shall lay before the Congregation such of the essays written by the Companions as in his judgment are worthy of publication, and his report upon such works as were referred to him by the Chapter for examination. He may also bring to the notice of the Chapter other subjects upon which books or pamphlets might with profit be prepared, with a view to their being published by the Congregation.

3. For publication of any work favorably reported on by the Censor, a three-fourths vote of the Companions in Chapter shall be required. If the Chapter, by a majority vote, shall approve of any suggestion of the Censor recommending that a work be prepared upon any set subject, the Master shall thereupon appoint any member of the Congregation to prepare such work. He who is appointed shall be bound to undertake the work, and transmit the same to the Censor as soon as it is finished.

4. When the Chapter has authorized the publication of a work, it shall be the duty of the Censor to prepare the same for the press as soon as possible. He shall use every care to secure literary accuracy and typographical neatness in all publications of the Congregation. No publication shall be issued anonymously, but upon the title page shall appear the writer's name.

5. The authors of publications issued by the Congregation shall relinquish all rights over such publications; and any money derived from the sale of publications shall be added to the funds of the Congregation.
